Product Recommendation Methodology

How we choose the kitchen equipment we recommend — and what our recommendations are not.

Last updated: July 2026

Specification-based, not hands-on tested

Our equipment recommendations are specification-based: we compare documented specs (capacity, depth, material, oven and broiler limits, freezer and dishwasher safety, weight, lids, handles) against the cooking problem a page is about. We do not claim to have physically tested products, and we never invent hands-on results, star ratings, prices, or “best seller” popularity.

How we match products to pages

  • Each page has a context (a crowd guide, a freezer guide, a cheese guide, a small-batch recipe).
  • Products carry use-case tags and exclusion rules, so the wrong tool is filtered out.
  • We won’t recommend a shallow dish for an extra-deep bake, glass for an unsafe thermal transition, broiler use without verified compatibility, or commercial buffet gear to a small household.
  • When a common utensil works as well as a premium one, we say so.

What we verify (or leave blank)

Product facts are only shown when they can be verified from documented manufacturer specifications; anything unverified is left blank rather than guessed. Every recommendation explains what problem it solves, who it’s for, and who can skip it.

Affiliate relationship

Some equipment links are affiliate links; as an Amazon Associate, ZitiRecipe earns from qualifying purchases. See our affiliate disclosure. Revenue never changes which product best fits the cooking problem.
