Recipe Testing Policy

What our status labels mean, and what counts as tested.

Last updated: July 2026

Status labels

  • Editorial demo / awaiting kitchen verification: the method is documented but has not yet been cooked and tasted by our team. Not indexed, no ratings, no “tested” claim.
  • In kitchen testing: actively being cooked and refined.
  • Kitchen verified: cooked, tasted, and refined through at least one full test round by a real person, with a recorded test date.

What a test round requires

A verified recipe must have been physically prepared and tasted, with notes on what worked and what changed. We record the last tested date and the number of test rounds. A recipe is never marked verified or published on the strength of writing alone.

Why some recipes are demos right now

This site was assembled with automated tooling that can write and structure recipes but cannot taste food. Rather than imply testing that did not happen, we label those recipes as editorial demos and keep them out of search until a human test is logged. This is a deliberate honesty choice.

Food safety

Regardless of testing status, always cook and reheat ziti until the center reaches 165°F (74°C). Follow safe handling for meat, dairy, and leftovers.
