How we estimate this
- Amounts are approximate editorial estimates for planning, not exact measurements.
- Assumes ~85 g dry pasta, ~190 ml sauce, and ~60 g cheese per standard serving.
- Baking time and food safety cannot be scaled precisely. Always bake until hot throughout (165°F / 74°C internal) regardless of batch size.
How the math works
Every estimate starts from a standard main-dish serving and scales linearly. Our baseline assumes about 85 g of dry pasta, 190 ml of sauce, and 60 g of cheese per serving, adjusted by the appetite level you choose. Pan count is the servings divided by that pan’s typical capacity, rounded up. When a job exceeds about 24 servings, we recommend preparing in multiple batches so nothing gets overfilled.
These are planning estimates, not exact measurements. Real amounts vary with brands, how saucy you like it, and how full you pack each pan. Baking time and food safety cannot be scaled precisely — always bake until the center reaches 165°F (74°C), regardless of batch size.
